Salve,
All good things come to an end, and so after three great years in the market, we are forced to move and look for another home. Not by choice, but because some landlords are just too crooked, have no regards to our safety and comfort (you all know the AC broke down every summer) and still think they are right. To make a long story short (where lawyers were involved) we are moving out.
The location is undecided yet, but I will update as soon as we have something more concrete, in the meantime if you have any suggestions for a space we can rent/lease let us know so we can check it out, it’s very expensive to maintain an academy around the city and only with the support of a community can we keep moving, developing Capoeira, and passing along the knowledge that has been transmitted from Master to Student for so many centuries.
We will continue our traditional Car Free Sunday Rodas, so you can always find us there, and come participate in this great event.
I’d like to thank Kensington Market for having welcomed us with open arms and supported us in so many ways, and to everyone who came by the academy to support us we’ve had great times and will remember those days in our hearts.
To Sir (who has helped us with his knowledge, experience and by providing us with a place to call home) and the Hapkido Students, we learned so much from each other, the bond developed will not fade, so although we will be in different academies from now on we will still be together in this never ending voyage to better ourselves, our arts and have an open mind to appreciate and learn from other art forms.
Axe,
Prof. Kmelo
