Street Roda – AfroFest

[ July 9, 2006; 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. ] We’ll be at Queens Park celebrating the yearly cultural event AfroFest and promoting Capoeira with a Roda in the park.

Show up at 2p.m. at the Horse Statue in Queens Park. The roda will start around 3:30p.m.

Capoeira Show – Cerveja Brahma

[ July 26, 2006; 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. ] In cooperation with Muiraquitã (Contra Mestre Márcio Mendes), some of G.U.C.’s members will participate in a show promoting the brazilian beer Brahma. These will be private shows during the beer’s launch parties happening around Canada.

Capoeira Demo – HERstory Women’s Forum

[ July 14, 2006; 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. ] To all female capoeiristas, we invite you to demonstrate Capoeira to a group of young women (16-19 yr. olds). The purpose of this demo is to show that female empowerment takes many forms.

Show up at 1p.m. at 20 Gordon Ridge Place (Midland and Danforth). The demo will start at 1:45p.m.
