Capoeira Show – Cerveja Brahma

[ July 26, 2006; 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. ] In cooperation with Muiraquitã (Contra Mestre Márcio Mendes), some of G.U.C.’s members will participate in a show promoting the brazilian beer Brahma. These will be private shows during the beer’s launch parties happening around Canada.

Capoeira Demo – HERstory Women’s Forum

[ July 14, 2006; 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. ] To all female capoeiristas, we invite you to demonstrate Capoeira to a group of young women (16-19 yr. olds). The purpose of this demo is to show that female empowerment takes many forms.

Show up at 1p.m. at 20 Gordon Ridge Place (Midland and Danforth). The demo will start at 1:45p.m.

Capoeira Workshop – VII International Capoeira Workshops – Évora 2006

Capoeira Demo – Brass Festival

23rd GUC Birthday Roda

[ June 9, 2006; 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. ] Everyone is invited to a roda celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Grupo União na Capoeira! All over the world, GUC members will host Capoeira rodas and parties to celebrate the work of Mestre Umoi, who started the group in Brazil in 1983.

Capoeira Workshop – Schools With No Borders Project

[ June 1, 2006; 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. ] In connection with the Favelas of Rio de Janeiro, the Schools With no Borders Project, is organizing a seminar to bridge and teach educators on how they can help.

We will be part of this seminar demonstrating what Capoeira can do for youth and crime by teaching a small capoeira workshop and talking about successfull Projects [...]
